Streaking babies!

So for the past few months I have been dealing with streaking babies! Thing 2 had mastered the art of taking her diaper off, which had been one of my reasons for switching to cloth diapers. FuzziBunz diapers use snaps instead of the traditional velcro like straps on most disposables. For a while this worked great! Until last night, when Thing 1 had also taken her diaper off! Now both of the girls have figured out how to get their diapers off. They actually help each other remove each piece of clothing until they get right down to the diaper and then they rip the snaps right off.

Today they’ve taken their diapers off a total of 4 times. (edit: 5 times now.) They even “unstuffed” the FuzziBunz for me which is pretty funny, now that I think about it. I’m seriously considering buying them some potty seats and letting them roam their room naked for a week or two while I attempt to “train” them on the potty. I’m scrubbing their poop and pee out of the carpet anyway…so they might as well be learning how to use the potty in the process. I honestly have no idea how I’m going to teach them to use the potty when they can’t even tell me they have to go to the bathroom.

I have some ideas floating around in my head at the moment. Hopefully something will work. Right now I’m thinking “baby sign language,” “reward system,” and “positive reinforcement.” I’m going to try all of these things and possibly a combination of the group and we’ll see what happens. First I need to do this pay period’s budget so I can make sure we can afford the potty seats. Mr. Thing got two tickets driving home from WLC that need to be paid this pay period. If we can’t buy the Potty seats this month then I’ll just have to keep scrubbing poop out the carpet till July 1st. Oh the joys of parenting. 😉 haha

Oh and the picture is of Thing 1 and Thing 2 at 5 months old. They just LOVE to be naked, always have.

It should be a lot of fun trying to potty train the girls while Mr. Thing is in the field for a week. (Please note the sarcasm in that statement..) Honestly, I’d rather prefer him to be home to help me potty train them but things can’t always be the way you want them to be. Now I’m off to go research some potty training tips for multiples. Wish me luck!
