Labor and Delivery

Well after writing the blog post about stripping diapers last night I wasn’t feeling so well. I drank some water, put my feet up, laid on my left side and these cramps would not leave! So I started to time them and I was having four contractions within the hour and my back was KILLING me by then. I called the on call doctor, who just so happened to be one of my favorite doctor’s at the OB/GYN, and he told me to come on in so he could make sure everything was okay. So that’s exactly what I did around 11pm last night I got myself in the “Swagga Wagon” and drove over to the Hospital. I was checked in and they got me strapped with all those bands that check for baby’s heart beat and contractions.

After about a half and hour, Dr. J, came in and says “Whoa. Excuse me, but you look like crap. Why are you so pale?”
You gotta love

Well I told him everything that has been going on lately. Mr. Thing is at WLC everyday, I’m in my last week of classes, I’m trying to keep the house clean and take care of the girls so I’m pretty tired; especially at 12am! We talk about the remaining symptoms I’m having and he’s off to check some tests. After wards he comes back gives me a pelvic exam to check my cervix and make sure I’m not dilating early, which thankfully I’m not.
So by the end of my visit he tells me I’m definitely having contractions but no signs of pre-term labor. His diagnosis? Dehydration and Exhaustion. Apparently my urine test was twice as concentrated as it should be…So basically I’ve been doing too much and not resting enough. I’m back on my iron pills so I don’t become anemic again. It was a long night but I’m thankful everything is okay with the babies. Now I just need to teach my family how to clean up after themselves so I can rest more.
